Opportunities to give financial assistance

Some of our financial support is collective, through the Local Meeting. Much of it is individual. We should feel encouraged to inform ourselves about the need of other organisations for our help and make appropriate contributions according to our means and discernment.

It is laid upon us to help our own area and local meetings to carry out the concerns and witness of Quakers through our regular financial support in accordance with our means.
Quaker Faith & Practice 14.05

Our work is carried out with money received from several sources: the most important, for it represents all Friends as individuals, is contributions to Britain Yearly Meeting, area meetings, local meetings and Quaker-related organisations.

Recent requests for support

February 2015 - Friends World Committee for Consultation
It is FWCC that gives all of us – Quakers in Britain and elsewhere – our international standing and voice. FWCC is connecting Friends, crossing cultures, and changing lives.

Please click here to download a letter from BYM representatives about why they are appealing to us and our meeting to contribute to FWCC’s work this year.

Please click here to visit the FWCC website.

Individuals who would like to donate can do so by clicking here.

February 2015 - Glebe House
Glebe House offers an emotionally secure and monitored environment which supports adolescent males who are a risk (emotionally and physically) to themselves, to children, to their families and to the wider community. It forms part of the Friends Therapeutic Community Trust

Its trustees must be Quakers and are appointed by five area meetings in the local area, including our own area meeting.

Please click here to visit the Glebe House website.

Glebe House is the nominated charity of King's Lynn Quakers for the six months to June 2015.
